About me

I grew up in West Africa, in Ghana. My dad had work in construction there and the family followed. I stayed there for about 14 years. I went to a French School, for Kindergarten and middle school. After that I moved to France with my family. I ended my studies at an International French school where I met lots of people like me, who grew up outside of France before coming back to France. All that time I didn't only study. I am an avid lover of music : listening, playing and performing. I also participated in many different sporting activities such as Krav maga and basket ball. Another passion I share with my family is traveling. The only thing that can stop us from going around and discovering different cultures is a pandemic !

Music

I have studied Piano for a good 14 years now. Eight of those years I was classically trained, but I transitioned into Jazz improvisation which I've now been doing ever since. I have had many experiences that have tested not only my skills as a musician but as a team leader.

When I was in high school, I was in a band that participated in a "Battle of the Bands" competition organized by Emergenza. We were able to force our way all the way into the finals, going from concert hall to concert hall in Paris. Notably the Gibus Café, New Morning, Backstage and the Bataclan !

During my senior year of high school, I joined a play where I was lead musician. I had the responsibility of 20 musicians. I had to pick the songs we would perform, make sure that we practiced regularly, that they were up to standard and ready for the play. The practice phase lasted about 4 months and we had 2 nights of performances that ended very well.

Sports

All my life I have been really into sports. Be it team sports like Football and basketball, or performance sports like martial arts, dancing and swimming.

I've mostly done performance sports with clubs and associations. I've done Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Krav Maga as martial arts and when I was still in Ghana I did a lot of swimming. I even represented my school for a swimming tournament and brought back a gold and silver medal !

With team sports, I've always played with friends during my free time. In Ghana, football was the more popular sport. Everybody played and I wasn't the exception. Ever since I've been in France though, I started really getting into Basket Ball through watching the NBA at obnoxiously late hours of the night with friends.
