Vroomba

My role :

My role in this project was that of Game Designer, Game Programmer and Sound Designer.

I designed the mechanics of the Racing Roomba and the behaviour of the dust mites. I then programmed the mechanics of the Vroomba in Unity. I designed all sound interactions and mechanics and integrated them into the project.

 

Description :

Vroomba is a racing toy where the player controls a remote controlled Roomba racer exploring a children's room. His goal is to clean the room that is filled with dust mites. Absorbing the dust increases the fuel of the Vroomba, which allows it to either jump or increase it's speed. The aesthetic and feeling of the game is heavily inspired by Toy Story.

Our greatest design challenge was creating a toy with tension interesting enough that the player will continue playing and exploring the room.

This project was made with a team of 4 students in the span of 3 months.
