Gentlemen's Quarrel
My role :
My role on this project was that of Game Designer, Game Programmer and Sound Designer. I designed the mechanics and wrote them down in comprehensive documents, then programmed them using Construct2 (which has a blueprint like coding system). I also designed the sound interactions, mechanics and composed the music of the game. This game holds a special place in my heart, since it was the first video game I designed.
Description :
Gentlemen's Quarrel is a 2D Fighting game where the goal is to knock the opponent off the counter of a bar. The fight takes place inside a traditional British Pub, where an Irish man and an English man are duelling to see who the greater gentleman is. The experience wants it to be both competitive and comedic.
Our greatest design challenge was creating a fighting game. The intricate rock, paper, scissor design that all fighting games have had to be perfectly balance as to not have a dominant strategy.
